EU2009.CZ made Czech EU presidency logo

Prague, Nov 12 (CTK) - The abbreviation EU2009.cz that refers to the
Internet domain is the official logo of Czech EU presidency in the first
half of next year that the Czech government presented Wednesday.

The presentation of the colourful logo which has a uniform visual style
started the second stage of the presidency information campaign.

The logo refers to www.eu2009.cz that will be the official portal of Czech presidency.

The campaign still features the "faces" of presidency, including ice hockey
player Jaromir Jagr, model Tereza Maxova and conductor Libor Pesek.

The logo replaces the slogan "We will make it sweet for Europe" from the
first stage of the campaign.

The commission chose the work of graphic artist Tomas Pakosta, 34, from
among 350 proposals.

It mainly praised the positive look of the work and that it is about the
whole of Europe, not only about the Czech Republic.

Prime Minister Mirek Topolanek also today presented the updated considered
political priorities of the presidency, mainly "three E" - economy
(financial crisis), energy (energy security, climate change), Europe and
the world (including eastward policy, integration of the western Balkans).

The precise programme will be released at the year's end.

The motto of Czech presidency is Europe without Barriers. Prague will take
over the presidency from France in the year of the 20th anniversary of the
fall of the Iron Curtain. It will hand it over to Sweden in the middle of
the year.
