Anti-racist demonstration held in Prague
Prague, Feb 4 (CTK) - Roughly 100 people attended the March against Racism and Neo-Nazism in Prague yesterday afternoon.
The quiet march ended outside the Faculty of Law of Charles University in the Jewish Quarter from where the participants went home. Tens of police patrolled the event.
The participants met at Prague's namesti Miru square. After speeches they marched through Wenceslas Square and Old Town Square shouting slogans such as Stop to Nazism!
The march was staged by the group Facebook Against Racial Bias.
Activists said the march wanted to "actively intervene against the growing ultra right as the public and the government are ignoring the serious problem."
The march also wanted to remember victims of World War Two.
Facebook Against Racial Bias is a group of five young people who are not from any party.

Comments
The leaders of Facebook Against Racial Bias are doing much needed work as they are raising awareness of a major problem so far mostly ignored by the government as well as the public. The ultra right activists in the U.S. are now organized into The Tea Party movement, (not a political party) but are making major impact on American politics. They thwart the progress President Obama has been making to repair the vast damage of American economy and society left behind by the previous administration. They challenge both the Republicans for their incompetent leadership which is indulging in inertia and obstructionism, and the Democratic lawmakers for not making faster progress in reforming the country while spending money on the projects needed to impement the necessary changes. They clearly want to have it both ways, have their cake and eat it too.
Since Facebook Against Racial Bias Group is apparently working through FB, it would be very helpful if Prague Post articles could be reposted on FB so that FB users as myself could share them with their friends.
