Euro: Viliam Sivek sells hotel chain EuroAgentur to Russians

Prague, Dec 19 (CTK) - EuroAgentur Hotels & Travel, one of the largest hotel chains in the Czech Republic, was sold by Czech entrepreneur Viliam Sivek to Russian owners in November, weekly Euro has said in its latest issue to appear on Monday.

Sivek was appointed supervisory board chairman and probably has retained a minority stake in the company, Euro said. Sivek did not want to comment on the sale.

Kirill Novak was appointed the chairman of board of directors at EuroAgentur Hotels & Travels. According to data from the Register of Companies, Novak is active in five other companies on the Czech market which are all involved in real estate lease.

EuroAgentur Hotels & Travel has so far operated 45 hotels in the Czech Republic, one hotel in Slovakia, 13 restaurants and a travel agency focusing on foreign tourists, Euro said. The company launched its activities on the Czech market in 1989.

Sivek has been operating four Prague hotels - Best Western Hotel Kampa, Hotel William, Hotel Harmony and Hotel Melantrich - since November as an individual. The hotels are part of his company Viliam Sivek - EuroAgentur Praha.

Sivek is also the chairman of the Czech Association of Travel Agencies (ACK) and the president of the Sparta hockey club.
