Prague, Feb 2 (CTK) - Czech Prime Minister Petr Necas yesterday repeatedly dismissed in parliament the junior opposition Communists' (KSCM) suspicion that his government is spying or having the secret services spy on the KSCM.

During the question time in the Chamber of Deputies, Necas (Civic Democrats, ODS) was answering a question addressed to him by Miroslav Grebenicek, a KSCM deputy and former KSCM chairman.

Necas said he believes that it was a mistake that the then Communist Party of Czechoslovakia (KSC) was not banned before the first free elections in 1990.

"I'm convinced that the Communist Party should not have been allowed to take part in the mid-1990 elections as an undemocratic and totalitarian unreformed structure," Necas said.

He dismissed Grebenicek's suspicions.

"The government does not have any parliamentary party spied on, neither through the Interior Minister nor the intelligence services nor anyone else. There is no reason for it," Necas said.

Necas said his "hair is graying" and he "gnashes his teeth in anger" at the KSCM having become a legitimate political party and its representatives being members of Czech parliament.

He said he is a convinced anti-communist and that he considers communism a criminal ideology.

Necas previously answered Grebenicek's question in writing. Grebenicek was dissatisfied with it and he made Necas react again at the plenary session yesterday.

The opposition, which prevailed in the conference room at the moment, then pushed through the Chamber of Deputies reaction disapproving of Necas's answer to Grebenicek.

Apart from the KSCM, the other Czech opposition party in parliament are the Social Democrats (CSSD).
