General inspection arrests group over suspected tax evasion

Prague, June 26 (CTK) - The Czech General Inspection of Security Forces (GIBS) yesterday arrested nine persons, including three policemen, suspected of tax evasion in illegal mineral oil imports, GIBS spokeswoman Radka Sandorova told CTK.

Further information on the case will be released in the next few days, she said.

The inspection monitored the group for a long time.

On Friday, the GIBS detained a police officer and two civilians for blackmailing a businessman. The three suspects demanded half a million crowns from the businessman in exchange for dropping the prosecution he is faced with.
