Prage, Sept 6 (CTK) - Food producer Nestle Cesko saw its net profit grow from Kc438m in 2010 to Kc440m in 2011 and its total sales rose by 6 percent year-on-year to Kc10.7bn, according to the firm's financial statement.

The sales were pulled up mainly by exports.

The output of Nestle Cesko's plants Zora Olomouc and Sfinx Holesov exceeded Kc5.3bn last year, up by nearly 8 percent year-on-year.

Nearly one half of both plants' output headed for exports, which rose by 16 percent on-the-year.

The value of sales on the domestic market reached Kc2.9bn, which was comparable with the year 2010.

Nestle Cesko's main export markets are Slovakia, Hungary, Poland and Britain as well as Russia and Australia.

Nestle imported products worth over Kc4.9bn from its foreign branches to the Czech Republic, nearly Kc200m more than a year ago.

Nestle, an international food company based in Switzerland, entered the Czech market in the early 1990s.

Besides chocolate as well as non-chocolate sweets produced in the Czech Republic, Nestle supplies to the Czech market, for example, instant coffee Nescafe, dehydrated food products and liquid seasoning Maggi, as well as dog and cat food of the Purina brand.
