Mosnov, North Moravia, Sept 23 (CTK) - Some 208,000 people visited the 12th NATO Days and Czech Air Force Days at the Mosnov airport last weekend, organisers told journalists Sunday.

Sunday, the event was seen by 118,000 visitors who could see in-flight refuelling and the flight of the U.S. B-52 Stratofortress bomber.

"Thanks to the visitors' interest, we could defend the unofficial title of the biggest military air and security show in Central Europe," Zbynek Pavlacik, chairman of the association Jagello 2000 that organises NATO Days, said.

Pavlacik said due to bad weather, fewer, only 90,000 as against 140,000 a year ago, visitors came to the show on Saturday.

However, on Sunday, the number of visitors surged, surpassing by 33,000 last year's 85,000, Pavlacik said.

NATO Days offered over eight hours of air shows and six hours of ground dynamic shows, he added.

There was the performance of the British aerobatic group Red Arrows and the participation of two legendary bombers B-52.

"On the ground, the audience voiced the biggest interest in a show of a Czech and Polish police task force that attacked a terrorist and an attack of a mechanised unit as shown by the 7th mechanised brigade," Pavlacik said.
