Prague, Sept 23 (CTK) - Starting wages in the Czech Republic grow by roughly 13 percent after two years of practice and now the average gross starting wage in the country is Kc22,716 a month, according to an online wage survey Platy.cz made among 68,000 respondents.

The influence of practice on the wage growth stops after ten years when people earn some 28 percent more than at the start of their career.

Average monthly wage in the Czech Republic stood at Kc24,626 in the first half of this year. The comparatively high starting wage in the poll is because the poll was made on the Internet so people with higher education and in bigger towns took part in it.

Companies often reassess the starting wage after the probation period or after one or two years in the post. After two years, people earn Kc25,602 a month on average.

Employees earn 25 percent more than the starting wage after working for five years and 28 percent more after working six to ten years. However, people working for more than ten years earn less than those with a shorter practice.

The biggest difference in the starting wage and the wage after two years is in the position of sales directors (+51 percent).

The second biggest difference is in the position of information system administrator (+28 percent). People working in monitoring clinical studies and as private bankers earn almost 25 percent more after two years than at the start.

However, in general, people with a longer practice do not have to automatically earn more.

"Raising of wages is often connected with a change of job when people looking for a new job expect also higher wage. People with six to ten years of practice have often spent a longer period of time in one company and had fewer possibilities for a wage increase," said Lubomir Valenta, the survey's manager for the Czech Republic.

With six to ten years of practice, the highest wage increases are on the positions of doctor, financial analyst and account manager where the wages are over 50 percent higher than the starting wage.
