Czech wins European Deer Calling Championship
Kaunas, Lithuania, Oct 6 (CTK) - Czech Jan Brtnik again won the European Deer Calling Championship that was held in Lithuania this year, the dpa German news agency reported Saturday.
Brtnik, 26, persuaded the jury by his entirely accurate imitation of the deer's voice.
In 2009, when Brtnik won the same championship in Dortmund, Germany, the agencies reported that he had charmed the jury mainly by his roar like a rutting stag.
Poland won the competition of teams at the 14th European Deer Calling Championship.
Some 3000 viewers watched the competition in Kaunas.
Contestants use special horns or conch shells to imitate deer calling.
According to the myslivost.cz, Brtnik has also become the Czech champion in deer calling twice.
