Value of advertising down 3.6% to CZK 39bn in Q1-3

Prague, Oct 23 (CTK) - The value of advertising space in the Czech Republic dropped by 3.55 percent year on year to around Kc39bn in January-September this year, with advertising on the radio down over a fifth and on the Internet growing by a quarter, the firm Admosphere told CTK in a press release.

Admosphere monitors spending on advertising on the basis of price-list prices on a regular basis.

Advertisements for some Kc3.6bn were displayed on the Internet in Q1-3 2012. This corresponds to over a third of the value of advertising in printed media which registered a 13 percent decrease yr/yr to around Kc12bn.

The price of advertising spots on the radio fell by Kc660m yr/yr, while in television it slightly rose to almost Kc20bn. Spending on outdoor advertising fell by 6.7 percent to Kc2.8bn.

Food and consumer goods maker Unilever CR was number one investor in the volume of advertising spending. It used advertising space for almost Kc1.03bn in Q1-3 2012, almost Kc60m more than a year earlier.

Spending of number two Henkel CR decreased by almost a third to Kc719.9m. L'oreal Ceska republika with a 5 percent increase to Kc704.5m was third.

The highest growth was seen by lottery company Sazka which raised advertising spending eight times to Kc405.7m.
