Fuel prices in ČR higher than in neighbouring countries
Prague, Oct 28 (CTK) - Czech drivers pay more for fuel than drivers in most neighbouring countries as the price of the Natural 95 petrol in the Czech Republic is the second highest after Germany, according to data of German automotive club ADAC.
The price of diesel oil at Czech petrol stations is higher than at stations in Slovakia, Austria, Poland and Germany, ADAC's data show.
A litre of the Natural 95 petrol costs Kc38.60 at Czech petrol stations, according to ADAC. Diesel oil costs Kc37.50 a litre, which is the highest price compared with the neighbouring countries.
Fuel prices in the Czech Republic grew at a record-high pace this year.
Representatives of Czech petrol stations often criticise excise duty on diesel oil, which is, according to them, too high and reduces demand,
But Finance Minister Miroslav Kalousek considers excise duty an important constituent of the state budget's revenues and rejects a cut in the excise duty rate.
Fuel prices in CR and neighbouring countries:
State Natural 95 Diesel oil

Germany 38.70 37.00
