Czech servers report visitor numbers up by 3% at 8.26m in 2012

Prague, Jan 28 (CTK) - The number of visitors of Czech Internet servers grew by 3 percent during the year 2012 and reached 8.26 million in December, according to statistics NetMonitor (NetMonitor - SPIR - Gemius & Mediaresearch).

The number of the servers' visitors from the Czech Republic rose by 4 percent on the year to 6.4 million in 2012.

The total number of visited websites increased by 4 percent compared with December 2011 to 8.37 billion.

Users spent 19 hours and 46 minutes on the Internet on average in December, which is five minutes less than in November. The average length shortened by one hour and 10 minutes year-on-year.

The most frequently visited portal was Seznam whose visitor numbers stagnated year-on-year at 5.6 million people. iDnes with 3.96 million visitors came second. The portal's visitor numbers increased by 3 percent compared with December 2011.

Novinky, which came third, registered a 4 percent drop in visitor numbers to 3.81 million.

The largest Internet server operator was Seznam with 6.27 million visitors, followed by the Mafra group with 4.09 million visitors. AdActive with 3.73 million users came third.

Almost 6.6 million people in the Czech Republic had an access to the Internet in October 2012.
