Slevomat's turnover grows by 73% to CZK 758m in 2012

Prague, Jan 30 (CTK) - Slevomat, the biggest daily deals site on the Czech market, raised turnover by 73 percent to Kc758m last year, and sales of the entire Slevomat Group reached Kc2.35bn, compared with Kc1.5bn in 2011, group founder Tomas Cupr has told journalists.

"We focused mainly on extending our offer of goods. While in 2011 we sold goods worth Kc41m, last year the sales increased by more than five times to Kc226m," Cupr said.

In the segment of goods, customers are most interested in fashion and luxury items.

Turnover in the segment of travelling increased by 71 percent. Slevomat customers most frequently bought weekend stays in the Czech Republic.

The average value of an order rose from Kc616 to Kc720 last year.

In 2013, the portal wants to focus on goods again. "Our aim is to sell goods and designer clothes worth more than Kc1bn. In terms of turnover, Slevomat will get among the top five e-shops on the Czech Internet," Slevomat portal executive director Peter Irikovsky said., number two on the Czech daily deals market, last year doubled sales to Kc320m.

Domestic daily deals sites increased sales by 61 percent to Kc2.9bn last year.

About a quarter of Czechs use daily deals sites regularly and 89 percent of them are satisfied with their purchases, according to a poll carried out by Income GfK for the MasterCard company.
