Bohemia Energy raises sales by 38% in 2012

Prague, Feb 19 (CTK) - Alternative electricity and gas supplier Bohemia Energy raised sales by 38 percent to Kc8.7bn last year, according to preliminary results, spokeswoman Alzbeta Stastna told CTK Tuesday.

The company has not disclosed the bottom line for 2012.

The high growth in sales to last year's record level came mainly thanks to a large number of new clients. Bohemia Energy had over 403,000 clients last year, nearly 244,000 of them buying electricity and 158,000 gas.

"As for the outlook for 2013, we expect Bohemia Energy to have a year-on-year growth in sales at nearly 30 percent against 2012. We estimate total sales for 2013 at some Kc11bn," said the company's executive Jiri Pisarik.

The company has a potential for further growth and believes it may exceed the level of 0.5 million clients this year.

Bohemian Energy Tuesday also presented estimated results of its sister company Comfort Energy which launched operations in April 2012.

Comfort Energy, which focuses exclusively on households and small clients, attracted 38,000 clients last year and its sales reached Kc26m.

Bohemia Energy ranks among the principal domestic alternative energy suppliers. It is a rival to the largest players like CEZ, Prazska energetika and RWE Transgas. Centropol Energy ranks among its main rival alternative energy suppliers.
