Prague, March 1 (CTK) - Swedish furniture retail chain IKEA has halted the sale of pork and beef minced meat products in the Czech Republic for preventive reasons and will return them to sale only after tests are carried out, the company said in a press release sent to CTK Friday.

IKEA is thus reacting to the latest case when the State Veterinary Administration found undeclared horsemeat in meatballs supplied to IKEA.

"Besides products supplied from global sources, we also decided, for preventive reasons, to test products from our local suppliers which contain pork and beef minced meat," IKEA spokesman Petr Chadraba said.

On Monday, IKEA halted sales of meatballs in 13 European countries including the Czech Republic and Slovakia after Czech tests discovered undeclared horsemeat in the product.
