Bohemians 1905 will stay in Vršovice

The Ďolíček stadium, used by football club Bohemians 1905, will remain in Prague's Vršovice district. There had been the possibility that the team would move and the land under the stadium would be developed.

Kvitova, Pliskova swap tennis coaches

The best Czech women's tennis players, Karolina Pliskova (6th in WTA rankings) and Petra Kvitova have swapped coaches, and Kvitova will work together with Jiri Vanek and Pliskova with David Kotyza, Czech Fed Cup team spokesman Karel Tejkal confirmed to CTK on Thursday.

Golden Spike athletics meeting to be held at end of June

Javelin thrower Barbora Spotakova, the bronze medallist from the Rio Olympics, won the Czech Athlete of the Year contest for the record eighth time on Saturday, winning 1,685 points in the poll, followed by pole vault jumper Jan Kudlicka (1,433) and 400-metre runner Pavel Maslak (1,222).

Czech athlete Zátopková successfully recovering from leg surgery

Czech javellin Olympic winner Dana Zátopková, 94, who underwent femoral neck fracture surgery in September, has been recovering, is in a good psychical condition and she moved alone around her hospital bed leaning on a walking frame yesterday, Karel Engel, who looks after her, has said.
