Extremist groups without new themes after migrant crisis

The Czech extremist scene calmed down in the second quarter of the year and political entities were unable to find new mobilisation themes after the migrant crisis faded away and they continue to be split by internal discords, according to the Interior Ministry's latest report.

Britain likely to extradite businessman Savov to Czech Republic

Britain will probably extradite businessman Frantisek Savov, prosecuted for tax evasion and money laundering, to the Czech Republic as a British court rejected his appeal against extradition, state attorney's office spokeswoman Stepanka Zenklova said on Monday.

German church provides asylum for Iraqis from Czech Republic

The Evangelical Brethren Unity from the German village of Herrnhut has granted church asylum to 17 Iraqi Christians who were to return to the Czech Republic after their application for asylum was rejected, Czech Radio said Monday, quoting the daily Saechsische Zeitung.

Czech crime rate goes down in first half of 2016

Czech police registered 115,314 crimes in the first six month of the year, which is a decrease by 11.3 percent compared with the situation from January to June 2015, and 42.5 percent of the cases have been solved so far, according to the latest data that they released on Monday.

Iraqi helicopter pilots end training in Czech Republic

Thirty-one Iraqi helicopter pilots completed their "tailor-made" training of more than one year at the Pardubice air training centre on Monday, Roman Planicka, director of the LOM Praha state firm under which the centre falls, has said.

Most Czechs would let homosexuals adopt partner's child

Some 62% of Czechs in a new poll conducted by the CVVM agency said that homosexual men and women should have the right to adopt children of their same-sex partner and 48% would let them adopt children that are raised in institutions.

Czech environmentalists want more wild nature

LN: Zeman invited to Portugal thanks to Mozambique President

President Milos Zeman will be the only official visitor invited by Portuguese President Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa this year, thanks to the recommendation from Mozambique President Filipe Nyusi who speaks Czech as he studied in Brno in the 1980s, Lidove noviny reports.
