Eurobarometer: Czechs among eurosceptical nations

Czechs are among the eurosceptical nations within the EU since 46 percent of them believe that EU membership is neither good nor bad, according to a poll conducted by the Eurobarometer in April and released on Wednesday.

Czech Science Academy awards Japanese chemist Nakatsuji

Renowned Japanese chemist Hiroshi Nakatsuji has received the highest award of the Czech Science Academy (AV), the "De scientia et humanitate optime meritis" honorary medal for his contribution to science and humanitarian ideas, from AV President Eva Zazimalova.

LN: Prague beer bikes amuse tourists, annoy locals

Praguers are complaining about a new tourist attraction, the beer bikes, special vehicles driving through the historical centre with tapped beer served aboard up to 15 people who are "cycling," and the City Hall is considering regulating this, daily Lidove noviny (LN) wrote on Wednesday.

Another US convoy to go across Czech Republic

A U.S. army convoy, comprising some 400 vehicles and 1,000 troops, will move across the Czech Republic and then continue across Poland to an exercise in the Baltics next week, Jakub Fajnor, from the Defence Ministry press department, told journalists on Wednesday.

Brother of far-right party leader running for Christian Democrats

Local, Senate elections to be held Oct. 5-6

Poll: Czechs readier to accept foreign workers than ever

Natality sharply falls, mothers' age rises in Czechia in 25 years

Zeman to name Babiš as PM irrespective of ČSSD referendum

President Miloš Zeman will name Prime Minister Andrej Babiš (ANO) again as the prime minister irrespective of the outcome of the Social Democrat (ČSSD) referendum on the party's forming a joint government with ANO, Zeman said on Wednesday. Zeman repeated he was against an early election.
