Minister: Germany not planning changed regime on its Czech border

Germany does not plan to change the regime on its border with the Czech Republic over illegal migration, Interior Minister Jan Hamacek (Social Democrats, CSSD) tweeted after a phone call with his German counterpart Horst Seehofer on Wednesday.

Lower house head warns of US duty impact on Czech GDP

Police find dead tiger in raid over suspected animal mistreatment

The Czech police and customs officers found a fresh-killed tiger, skins of tigers and other big cats and 20 frozen bodies of other protected species while raiding premises in Bohemia over suspected unlawful animal treatment on Monday.

Presidential Office not facing distraint over Zeman's words

Krčál ends as minister over plagiarism

Labour and Social Affairs Minister Petr Krčál said he has handed in his resignation to ČSSD head Jan Hamáček over plagiarism allegations, which Hamáček accepted and proposed Labour Ministry senior official Jana Maláčová for Krčál's successor. On Monday, news site Seznam Zpravy.cz reported that the thesis Krčál defended at the Baťa University in Zlín in May 2007 contained a number of pages evidently copying older texts by other authors.

KDU wants to prevent authoritarian parties from dominating Senate

Prague backs Krejčíř demanding better conditions in foreign jail

Archive to acquire broadcasting rights to Patočka recordings

The Jan Patocka Archive will gain the broadcasting rights for the only existing TV recordings with Jan Patočka, the late Czech thinker and dissident, from the Prague-seated French Institute that will pay for them to the French National Audiovisual Institute, the French embassy said on Tuesday.
