Prague court sends nanny to prison for fatally injuring baby

Dieu Vu Thi, who worked as a nanny of children of her Vietnamese expatriates in Prague, is to go to prison for 11 years for heavily injuring two small girls one of whom died due to the injury, the Prague Municipal Court ruled on Wednesday.

Coffin with Cardinal Vlk's remains displayed before funeral

People will have an opportunity to pay their last respects to the Cardinal, former Prague Archbishop and Czech Catholic Church Primate, Miloslav Vlk, who died aged 84 on March 18, in two churches in Prague on Thursday and Friday, Stanislav Zeman, told CTK on Wednesday.

Czechs to sponsor climate protection in developing countries

The Czech Republic is to increase ten times the sum it spends on climate protection in developing countries by 2030, according to the Climate Protection Policy in the Czech Republic approved by the government on Wednesday, Environment Minister Richard Brabec (ANO) has told CTK.

Czech PM Bohuslav Sobotka considers it unnecessary to exchange letters with Finance Minister Andrej Babis about the lower house's call on him to refute a tax evasion suspicion, he told reporters on Wednesday, adding that Babis should primarily explain his transactions to the public.

EU court to Czechs: Medicines with ephedrine not precursors

Curative preparations containing ephedrine and pseudoepehdrine cannot be qualified as precursors, or substances for drugs production, the European Court of Justice has written in its answer to the Czech Supreme Court's preliminary question, CTK has found out on the court's website.
