The new head of the Czech Government Office under the forthcoming government of Andrej Babis (ANO) will be Radek Augustin, current director of the Czech Presidential Office's analytical department, Babis told Lidovky.cz server on Friday.

Charity collects Christmas gifts for children from Ukraine

People from all over the Czech Republic have donated Christmas gifts to 341 poor children from Ukraine within a public fundraising campaign launched by the Olomouc Archdiocesan Charity (ACHO), its spokeswoman Karolina Opatrilova told CTK on Friday.

Czechs with V4 allies to launch Libyan border protection project

The Czech Republic with its partners in the Visegrad Four (V4) group (Hungary, Poland, Slovakia) will launch a joint project to strengthen the Libyan border protection and improve the situation of refugees in Libya, the Government Office said in a press release on Friday.

PM Babiš against moving Czech embassy to Jerusalem

Czech Prime Minister-designate Andrej Babis (ANO) does not agree with a transfer of the Czech embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem as no new conflicts should be provoked in the Middle East, he told Czech Radio on Friday, in reaction to President Milos Zeman's support for this step.

US embassy's human rights prize goes to activist Růžička
