Prince Edward to attend Czech DofE Award Event

Prince Edward, the youngest son of British Queen Elizabeth II, will visit the Czech Republic next week to present gold medals within the Duke of Edinburgh International Award (DofE Award) educational programme, in which 2,500 young Czechs participate this year, Martin Batko told CTK on behalf of the organisers on Monday.

Pharmacists to join doctors' protests on Wednesday

Pharmacists will join the planned protests of general practitioners and outpatient specialists and some of them will symbolically close pharmacies for half an hour on Wednesday morning, Czech Pharmacists' Chamber (CLnK) spokeswoman Michaela Bazantova told CTK on Monday.

Poll: Support to Pirates rising before elections

The support for the Czech Pirates is surging shortly before the October 20-21 general election, having reached 8.5 percent, largely at the expense of ANO, the Social Democrats (CSSD) and the Communists (KSCM), according to the latest Median agency’s poll released on Monday.

MPs ask gov't to annul lithium deal signed with Australians

The Chamber of Deputies asked the cabinet on Monday to annul the memorandum on lithium that Industry Minister Karel Havlíček signed with the Australian mining firm European Metal Holdings (EMH) shortly before the October 20-21 general election.

Právo: People around ANO leader Babiš facing fraud charges

Andrej Babis, chairman of the Czech government ANO movement, and another ten people, including his relatives, are facing fraud charges in connection with a 50-million-crown EU subsidy sent to the Capi hnizdo (Stork Nest) company, daily Pravo wrote on Friday, referring to a trustworthy police source.
