Slovak journalist Jan Kuciak, who was murdered in February, also focused on an international drug gang from Belgium with links to Italian mafia that laundered money in Slovakia, the Aktuality.sk and Investigace.sk websites have written.

Dwellers lose dispute to H-System administrator, must leave homes

Clients of the bankrupt H-System developer firm have lost their dispute with its bankruptcy administrator as the Supreme Court (NS) ordered them to leave the houses they had completed on their own, the NS announced to media on Tuesday. The decision concerns 60 families in eight houses, who have to vacate their flats within a month of the NS verdict's effect.

Czech-born young vulture to be released in Bulgaria

A young cinereous vulture that hatched in the Ostrava zoo in April has been transferred to Bulgaria this week to be released in the eastern part of the Stará Planina mountain range.

Marketa Malisova is leaving as the Prague-seated Franz Kafka Centre director after 16 years in the post, she told CTK on Tuesday, citing personal reasons, mainly her plan to focus on her own work as an author and film maker and on the legacy of her father, poet and lyricist Vaclav Fischer.

Archive gets philosopher Patočka's unique recordings from France

The Jan Patočka Archive gained the rights to the only existing video recordings with the late Czech philosopher and dissident Patočka from France on the basis of the documents that archive director Ivan Chvatik and French Ambassador to Prague Roland Galharague signed on Tuesday.

Israelis to train Czech cyberspace fight specialists

The Czech Defence Ministry plans to have dozens of its officers trained in anti-hacking methods by experts from the Czech-Israeli company CyberGym Europe, a step showing the state's efforts to enhance its cyberspace protection, Hospodářské noviny reported. The Czech market is short of firms that would meet the state's requirements in this respect. CyberGym Europe was the only bidder in the public tender the Defence Ministry had put up.

MfD: Czech-made application can recognise fake paintings
