Industrial Palace reconstruction expected in 2020

The city-funded complete reconstruction of the Industrial Palace (Průmyslový palác), including the completion of the destroyed left wing, will last at least three years. The building is part of the Výstaviště exhibition grounds in Prague's Holešovice district.

Migration boosts Czech population

The population of the Czech Republic increased by 39,745 to 10,649,800. Both migration and natural change contributed to the growth. There was a year-on-year stagnation of the number of births, and an increase in the number of deaths. The number of marriages was the highest in the last 11 years, and fewer babies were born out of wedlock, according to preliminary figures from the Czech Statistical Office (ČSÚ). The number of divorces also dropped.

The Czech Republic reached 20th place in the 2019 edition of the annual World Happiness Report, published by United Nations Sustainable Development Solutions Network. The country had been ranked 21st in the previous report.

NHL's Flyers to meet Blackhawks in Prague
