The total number of foreign students enrolled in degree programmes in the Czech Republic increased by 8.1% in 2020. The highest year-on-year increase is evident among students from Russia, India and Iran. The latest data from the Czech Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports for 2020 shows that the number of students with non-Czech citizenship had risen from 46,351 students in 2019 to 50,121 students in the last year (figures from December 31st, 2020). Statistics show that about 75% of casinos in the Czech Republic have been closed and 50% of slot machines have been eliminated. This result came after lawmakers in the country voted in favor of a decree that would render the prohibition of all technical gambling games in Prague effective. After a long meeting on Thursday, the government came to a decision to introduce several new restrictions in the Czech Republic. The Czech Ministry of Health will launch a unified register detailing the names of those residents who received the vaccine against COVID-19 according to Vinegret.cz. “The unified register will start working in the coming days. Vaccination confirmation will be issued in printed and electronic forms, which will simplify traveling abroad, ” the representative of the Faculty Hospital in Brno, Veronika Placha told Právo.
