Summary: Banks register higher demand for company financing

Česká Spořitelna extended loans totalling CZK 215.5bn to companies and corporate clients in H1 2016, up 6.3% y/y. The growth was driven by loans extended to big corporate clients in energy industry and construction. Komerční Banka Group extended loans totalling CZK 304.3bn to companies as of June 30, 2016 (up 10.7% y/y). UniCredit Bank Czech Republic and Slovakia registers 18.1% increase in deposits in corporate segment in H1. Firms are interested primarily in operating financing. Raiffeisenbank registers moderate increase in demand for corporate financing. The biggest transactions, totalling several billions of korunas, were signed with engineering, automotive, IT, energetics, service and construction companies. The demand for operating finance, trade finance and loans denominated in USD is growing as well. The volume of corporate loans increased 4.8%. In the SME segment, the rise amounted to 10.1%.
