The Transport Ministry opposes the ban on signing a contract with the winner of the tender for a vehicle register operator. It is prevented from signing a contract by a preliminary measure issued by the Office for the Protection of Competition (ÚOHS). The ministry plans to appeal. Seven bidders applied to take part in the open tender, offering prices ranging from CZK 35 to 100 million without VAT. ÚOHS said that the administrative proceeding pertaining to the tender continues. It was launched on July 8, 2015 following a motion filed by an unsuccessful bidder. ČIANEWS had reported earlier that the Transport Ministry chose O2 Czech Republic as the tender winner.
