Monika Šimůnková was elected the Deputy Public Defender of Rights yesterday. She previously served as the Czech Government Human Rights Commissioner from 2011-2013. The Chamber of Deputies has elected her to the position after she was nominated by both Czech President Miloš Zeman and the Senate.
