The fees, which banks charge from traders for processing card payments will be capped on the entire territory of the European Union. The relevant directive was approved by European Parliament on March 10. For transactions carried out by debit cards, the top limit will now reach 0.2 percent of the paid sum, for credit card transactions it will be 0.3 percent.
