PRAGUE – January 8, 2015 – On Sunday, December 21, Hilton Prague and Hilton Prague Old Town took pleasure in organising the annual Christmas Charity Concert for the hotel clients and business partners, which has been a Christmas highlight for 18 years in a row. Michael Specking, cluster general manager of both Hilton Hotels in Prague, was delighted to hand over a cheque in the value of 100,000 Czech Crowns to Tereza Maxová Dětem Foundation, who work to help children in need.

The concert was held under the auspices of the Embassy of the Republic of India. Brno Philharmonic headed by the Indian conductor Mr. Debashish Chaudhuri, featuring Alena Schutová as a soprano, brought the festive spirit to life.

As every year, the International ladies chamber choir Viva Voce conducted by Soňa Frýdlová delighted the audience by traditional Christmas carols. Michael Specking, cluster general manager of Hilton Prague and Hilton Prague Old Town together with Terezie Kašparovská, TV presenter, moderated the evening.

The Tereza Maxová Dětem Foundation has been benefiting from proceeds raised through two charity campaigns at Hilton Hotels in Prague already for a few years. This time, the total amount collected reached 100,000 Czech Crowns. A charity cheque was handed over to the director of the Foundation, Terezie Sverdlinová.

Both hotels have been participating in the “Small Change, Big Difference” campaign organised by the Hilton in the Community Foundation, which has been running since October 2013. The campaign invited Hilton guests to add an optional 1 Euro or its equivalent in the respective local currency onto their room bill during their stay. Additionally, the hotels have been supporting another Hilton in the Community Foundation activity, “Ducks for Change“. Throughout the campaign, hotel guests had the opportunity to buy collectable sets of rubber ducks, representing different characters working in a hotel, for just CZK 165 per box of 3 ducks.

After the concert, guests enjoyed delicious Christmas buffet under the stars in the hotel Lobby accompanied by piano music.

Hilton Hotels in Prague would like to thank main sponsors and partners who have contributed to the organization of the event: Gesto Computers, Janka Engineering and Lloyd Coils Europe.
