Prague, 17th April, 2012: CTE Tourism have announced today that Prague will be host to the second running of the international football tournament known as the CEE Cup that will take place during the week of 22nd July, 2012. Many future Beckhams, Messis and Zidanes will be coming to Prague from twelve Central and East European youth football teams to play in a week-long tournament that culminates in a Grand Final on the 29th July.

The CEE Cup is an international football tournament for top youth teams (under 19) from Central & Eastern Europe (CEE), organised by CTE Tourism, a Prague based Travel and Event Organizer. Football youth development in the region is booming, with many new talents appearing on the scene, the CEE Cup is a great opportunity for these future stars to put themselves well and truly in the spotlight. The tournament focuses on “Respect”, “Fair Play” and “Competitiveness”, all of which are very important for today’s youth players.

To date, participation has already been confirmed by Hajduk Split from Croatia, Vasas Budapest from Hungary, Levski Sofia from Bulgaria and the local team from Sparta Praha, amongst others.

Roberto De Blasio, director of CTE Tourism and organiser of the CEE Cup, commented:

„Our whole team is already well into the preparation process and we are getting very excited about this year’s activities. As this is the second year that we have organised the event, we are able to build on our previous experience in order to ensure that this year’s tournament will be even better than last, not only for the players themselves but also for the spectators and supporters. We are expecting a fantastic tournament with some really great clubs taking part, as well as a spectacular Grand Final on the 29th July.”

The CEE Cup prides itself in having a charitable aspect and will be giving a considerable percentage of the income received from sponsors and spectators to UNICEF in order to support the UNICEF Schools for Africa project. Last year, CTE Tourism raised more than 3,000 EUR for UNICEF. UNICEF works in 190 countries and territories to help children survive and thrive, from early childhood through adolescence. It is the world’s largest provider of vaccines for developing countries, supporting child health and nutrition, good water and sanitation, quality basic education for all boys and girls, and the protection of children from violence, exploitation, and AIDS. UNICEF is funded entirely by the voluntary contributions of individuals, businesses, foundations, and governments.

Last year Prague saw the first edition of this football youth tournament and it was an amazing start. This year, the tournament is expected to bring even more fans and, thanks to the participation of the top youth football clubs and football managers, even more talent!

Ends.
