Prague, October 2013: Martin Scheuch, co-owner and Country Partner of Sentient Czech and Slovak Republics, today announced the formation of one of Central and Eastern Europe’s largest independent construction consultancies with offices throughout the region. The new company follows the management buy-out of Gardiner & Theobald’s Central & East European group of companies and is a result, and confirmation of, global trends and changes in the real estate consultancy industry.

The existing qualified and experienced management structure will remain in place to ensure the new firm’s continuity and consistency in the quality of service delivered in its six established operations in the region. Sentient’s Partners in the Bratislava, Bucharest, Budapest, Prague, Warsaw and Zagreb offices (Jan Holyst, Jim McDaid, Gavin Moore, Mark Rea and Martin Scheuch) will continue to ensure the provision of high quality services to clients.

Talking about the buy-out, Martin Scheuch said:

We see great opportunities re-emerging in the Czech and Slovak Republics that we can pursue with a more flexible, adaptable and focused structure. We are now beginning to experience an increase in investor and developer confidence and activity, and are receiving enquiries with a continued demand for high quality consultancy services.”

Mark Rea, co-owner and Managing Partner of Sentient Central and Eastern Europe operation said:

During the past twenty years we have witnessed some tremendous and positive changes, despite the challenges being faced in some countries in recent years. We are convinced that Sentient will continue or re-emerge as the natural first choice of contact for most investors and developers in the region.”

The new company will maintain a strong and cooperative working relationship with Gardiner & Theobald’s global offices, whose earlier key projects in the Czech Republic included Centrum Cerny Most, Radio Free Europe, Luxembourg Plaza, Central Park Prague and the Kempinski Hotel Hybernska Prague.

Gardiner & Theobald LLP Senior Partner, Adam Glover said:

It goes without saying that we wish the new business the very best of luck with the opportunities that lie ahead. We will continue to maintain open lines of communication so that we have the option to work together in the future.”

Given the proven track record of its talented professionals in all aspects of construction consultancy, from project and cost management to technical due diligence, sustainability services, fit out and project monitoring, Sentient expects to continue to work successfully throughout the Czech and Slovak Republics, and it has ambitious growth plans with recent appointments not only in Prague and Bratislava, but also in Montenegro and in East Africa.
