On the night of May 5, several fire brigades took part in extinguishing a fire of an electric car in the underground garage of an office complex in the center of Prague. The firefighters used special Cobra equipment to extinguish the fire.
Last night the fire alarm in the office building on Belehradska Street went off. Firefighters who were called found that an electric car had caught fire in an underground garage.
“It was an electric car that caught fire in the underground garage. A Cobra fire suppression device was used,” said Martin Kavka, a spokesman for firefighters at the scene.
Police officers blocked Belehradska street in both directions, and within a short time several pieces of fire equipment were on sight.
According to information from the scene, firefighters’ work was complicated by the fact that the only way to get in and out of the garage was through the elevator system. Around 1:30 a.m. firefighters reported that they were able to put out the fire.
The causes of fire are now being investigated.
