UK singer songwriter Ellie Goulding reignited the music scene in Prague on Saturday evening with her unique style and brand of music. In the build up to Ellie Goulding entering the stage, the noise from the crowd intensified until a silhouette arose in the centre of the stage announcing the arrival of the main event. Opening the gig with the track ‘Intro’ from her latest album – Delirium – got the gig off to a perfect start and set the tone for the rest of the evening.

Ellie Goulding is well known for putting on a show alongside her unique singing voice and she did not disappoint Saturday night. With a whirlwind array of costume changes, each as fantastic as the last, combined with backup dancers, singers and the rest of her live support band, she blew the crowd away with an audio and visual display which would be hard for many bands to rival. Her ability to run, jump and dance her way around the stage was a reflection of how much energy the crowd gave her throughout the evening. This was something that did not go unnoticed by Ellie Goulding as she continually interacted with the crowd thanking them for being there with her and at one point even draped the flag of the Czech Republic over her shoulders, a real crowd pleasing moment.

As this is the Delirium World Tour, Ellie Goulding played a huge range of songs from her 2015 album. The set list was carefully planned tour of her albums, each song was welcomed with a deafening roar from the arena. Some of her tracks included; ‘On my Mind’, ‘Outside’ and ‘Aftertaste’. She also played tracks from her 2014 album ‘Halcyon Days’ such as ‘Figure 8’, ‘Explosions’ and ‘Anything Could Happen’. My personal favourites for the evening were; ‘Army’, her new EP released on January 29th, ‘Lost and Found’, ‘Around’ and finally ‘Keep on Dancin’. The set list allowed the pace of the evening to change repeatedly combining high tempo dance songs with slower acoustic tracks bringing everyone together to create a welcoming atmosphere that you would struggle to find watching other bands.

Ellie Goulding well and truly brought the party & British Indie Pop to Prague on Saturday evening and set the bar high for future visits from other bands coming to the city.
