Brno, Oct 16 (CTK) – The Indian documentary The Man Who Dwarfed the Mountains won the 42th Czech International Film Festival Ekofilm, festival spokesman Jan Smikmator has told CTK.

The film is about the current most important Indian environmentalist Chandi Prasad Bhatt.

It also won a prize in the category Enviro and the Environment Minister Prize, Smikmator said.

“We have chosen the film because Bhatt has several enchanting qualities that are mostly lacked by environment activists,” jury chairwoman Chihiro Guezenbroek said.

This year, the festival topic was water and drought.

Other categories were won by the Russian film Small People. Big Trees, the Bolivian film Historias contaminadas (The Toxic Tales) and the Lithuanian film Green Musketeers.

The viewers’ prize was won by the German Everglades about the life in the national park in Florida.

The viewers could see 40 films at the festival.
