Prague, Sept 4 (CTK) – The Czech ANO movement would win with 29.5 percent of the vote and the Social Democrats (CSSD) would end second with 18 percent if a general election were held now, according to an opinion poll the TNS Aisa agency conducted for Czech Television in August.

The popularity of both ANO and the CSSD has slightly risen since July.

The CSSD and ANO are partners in the centre-left coalition government. They are headed by Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka and Deputy PM Andrej Babis, respectively.

Recent opinion polls released by other agencies, too, mostly show ANO as the election favourite.

Apart from ANO and the CSSD, the Chamber of Deputies would now be entered by the opposition Communists (KSCM) with 11 percent of the vote, the Civic Democrats (ODS) with 9.5 percent, TOP 09 with 6.5 percent, and the minor government Christian Democrats (KDU-CSL) with 5 percent, just on the parliament entry threshold.

Out of the entities failing to cross the threshold, the strongest are the Greens, the Pirates and the Freedom and Direct Democracy (SPD) movement of lawmaker Tomio Okamura, which would gain 3.5 percent of the vote each, the poll showed.

TNS Aisa conducted the poll on 1,200 respondents on August 6-26.
