Prague, Jan 9 (CTK) – The Czech Pirate Party will vote against confidence in Andrej Babis’s minority government in the Chamber of Deputies on Wednesday, its deputy group unanimously agreed on Tuesday and announced it on Twitter.
The Babis cabinet, comprised of his ANO ministers and unaffiliated experts, will almost certainly not gain confidence in the lower house since the other parties in parliament refused to support it as well.
“The deputy group has just unanimously decided that it will vote against expressing confidence in the government on Wednesday,” the Pirates tweeted.
If deputies for the other parties in parliament followed the recommendations of their leaders, Babis’s government might be voted confidence only by the 78 ANO MPs in the 200-seat Chamber of Deputies.
ANO chairman Babis also said on Monday he did not expect his government to win confidence in the lower house. He is likely to try to form a new cabinet.
