Prague, Oct 11 (CTK) – Czech President Milos Zeman, his expert team and ministers for ANO, a member of the coalition government, will discuss acceleration of transport investments on October 22, Zeman’s spokesman Jiri Ovcacek told journalists yesterday.
The meeting will take place thanks to the efforts of the ANO leader, Finance Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Andrej Babis, Ovcacek said.
Along with Zeman, it will be attended by Transport Minister Dan Tok, Regional Development Minister Karla Slechtova and Environment Minister Richard Brabec (all ANO).
Zeman insists on the government spending more money on investments, especially on transport projects.
Last week, Zeman praised the budget surplus which reached 82 billion crowns as from the end of September.
However, the falling investments are its weak point, Zeman said, adding that they might backfire in the future.
The opposition, too, criticises the government for its failure to invest.
ANO won the weekend regional and Senate elections. Commentators are saying Babis is poised to win the next election to the Chamber of Deputies in 2017 and to be the next prime minister.
