Prague/Vienna, July 15 (CTK) – The Czech Foreign Ministry welcomes the deal on the Iranian nuclear programme announced in Vienna on Tuesday and appreciates the hard work of all the negotiators, it has written in an official statement posted on its website.
“The comprehensive deal reached after more than a decade of negotiations has shown that major international disputes can be resolved through dialogue and international diplomacy,” the ministry wrote on Tuesday night.
Under the deal, sanctions imposed by the United States, the European Union and the United Nations on Iran will be lifted in exchange for long-term limiting of the nuclear programme.
The main negotiations were held between the USA and Iran, but the other permanent members of the U.N. Security Council (Britain, China, France and Russia) and Germany took part in them as well.
The ministry expressed hope that the agreement would “help bring the world in general and Iran’s neighbours in particular more security and stability.”
Czech Foreign Minister Lubomir Zaoralek wrote on Twitter last night that “robust verification mechanisms will be put in place to ensure the peaceful nature of Iran’s nuclear programme.”
“Nuclear deal with Iran ends years of speculation about the possible use of military force against Iranian nuclear facilities,” Zaoralek tweeted.
