Prague, Nov 15 (CTK) – President Milos Zeman hopes that U.S. president-elect Donald Trump will be a strong president and it is a good thing that Trump is against immigration and Islamic terrorism, Zeman said in a debate on the importance of small and medium-sized businesses yesterday.
It is also good that Trump describes the position regardless of political correctness, he added.
Zeman said he would only be glad if Ivana Trump, the first wife of Trump, would be the U.S. ambassador to the Czech Republic.
Ivana Trump, born Zelnickova, comes from Zlin, south Moravia. She married Donald Trump in 1977. He was her second husband, while for him it was his first wedding.
They divorced in 1992. She said she was interested in the job last week.
Finance Minister Andrej Babis (ANO) said in the debate he expected Trump to resolve the problems in the Middle East, especially in Syria and Libya.
Babis said he also hoped Trump would abide by the commitments within NATO.
“Since Trump is a businessman, the trends in the world are clear. He is a pragmatist. Americans are fed up with the dynasties and corrupt systems,” Babis said.
Babis says he wants to run the nation like a business.
Zeman backed Trump even before the U.S. presidential election.
