Prague, Nov 11 (CTK) – The foreigners who will be sentenced to more than three years in prison over a deliberate crime or who were repeatedly convicted may have their residence permit cancelled, under the bill the Czech Senate passed yesterday.
The refugees released from detention facilities will receive money to travel from the country under the amendment to the asylum law and foreigner law.
The legislation is yet to be signed by President Milos Zeman.
Under the legislation, the Refugee Facilities Administration is to pay 400 crowns for a ticket and food to the released migrants without any money.
The introduction of the contribution was also recommended by the government committee for foreigners’ rights.
Without it, it would be inhumane to release the foreigners and let them without any financial means in the Czech Republic.
The Interior Ministry will also be able to pay a subsidy to the municipalities with detention facilities for foreigners.
At present, the municipalities with asylum centres are entitled to the subsidy of eight crowns per person and day.
