We can probably agree that 2020 has been far from an enjoyable year.

Let’s hope that 2021 will become a more pleasant, virus-free year. Today, I want to shed some light on why coffee shops and sweet shops, local restaurants, retail stores, food trucks, and sandwich stores should consider digital coupons for mobile wallets.

I believe this year is going to be even more mobile than last year. More and more people are going to use mobile wallets. And the actual mobile wallets such as Apple Wallet and Google Pay are equipped with some very useful features. So if your business is still using paper coupons … just stop it. You are missing out on huge opportunities. And you can easily get more environment-friendly.

So, why should you consider digital coupons for mobile wallets? Well first, it is easier to approach Millennials and Zoomers. Let’s face it. They would never clip paper coupons. On top of that, paper coupons are a hassle and you can easily lose or forget them. The younger generations have grown up with mobile phones. It is an audience that is hard to reach somewhere else. And adding a digital coupon to a customer’s mobile wallet ensures that the coupon is always on hand.

Second, it is an experience that sticks in your customer’s mind. People are less likely to forget about the wonderful experiences they witnessed. Especially when it’s a more personalized experience. A favorable position in the minds of your customers it’s what is it all about nowadays, right? Personalization of your offers and coupons would drive even greater traffic to your place. You can start by reaching people in the right place at the right time. You can use the mobile wallet feature to send location-specific messages to your customers who have your digital coupon in their mobile wallet. And remind them to use their coupon when they are nearby, or send them a new coupon to bring them into your place.

And third, you can keep your offers fresh and exciting. The digital coupons can be updated in peoples’ mobile wallets as often as you like. Your customers don’t have to download anything new. While updating your offer, you can just send them a push notification straight to their lock screen.

Your digital coupon in your customers’ mobile wallet is a direct communication channel with your customers. It creates an interesting opportunity for small businesses to even up their customer communication and engagement with the level of big brands.
