About
Editorial standards
The rules every Prague Monitor article is written and checked against.
What we publish
Guides and explainers with a clear purpose: each article answers one real question for a reader in Czechia and should be useful on its own.
What we do not do
- We do not invent facts, statistics, quotes, people, companies, prices or dates.
- We give a figure such as a fee, threshold or deadline only when it is well established, and we name the official body and say when it was checked.
- We do not give legal, tax, medical or mortgage advice. We explain how things work and when to consult a professional.
- Quotations are never invented. A pull quote is always a phrase from the article itself.
Sources
Articles rely on official and primary sources, which are listed at the end of each article. If a rule or figure cannot be confirmed from an official source, we describe the rule and point to the source instead.
Independence
Commercial and partner content, if it appears, is labelled as such and kept apart from editorial content. See the ownership page for conflicts of interest.
