In January, sales in retail trade including sale and repair of motor vehicles after seasonal, calendar and working day adjustment increased at constant prices by 4.8% month-on-month. Adjusted for working days it increased by 5.1% year-on-year, according to the Czech Statistical Office. The nonadjusted year-on-year increase was 6.8%. “Although January’s figures surprised positively, it is necessary to wait for the coming months to confirm that January was not an exception,” Komerční banka analyst Miroslav Frayer said.
