The photography exhibition Life As I Know It documents the daily existence of the Czech Roma families, particularly in their home environment. Photographer Talitha Brauer established a close relationship with them while volunteering with at-risk teenagers at the Teen Challenge Center for Children and Youth. She began work on Life As I Know It in late 2011, and spent time with families in Prague, Brno and Šluknov to learn about their lives, discrimination they are facing and their dreams for the future. The result is a series of intimate every day moments, shot mainly on film, in both black-and- white and colour. Alongside the portraits are interviews with the subjects, compiled by Brauer during the project.
