Horice, East Bohemia, June 16 (CTK) – The Karbox Horice Czech engineering firm, from the Excalibur Group, delivered the second field hospital to NATO these days, while the first one was supplied in January, Katerina Navarova, from the firm’s media representation, told CTK Tuesday.
The whole contract on the two field hospitals is worth about 32 million crowns.
The NATO Support and Procurement Agency (NSPA) took over the hospitals.
The supply of the two field hospitals, each consisting of ten containers, follows up Karbox’s previous contracts with the NSPA.
In 2009, the firm won a tender for integrated containers for military camps. On the basis of this contract, Karbox delivered two modular field hospitals to NATO in 2012 and 2013. Each consisted of 26 containers.
“NATO has been so far our most demanding client. All containers and their parts must meet the strictest criteria for the operation in very extreme climatic conditions,” Karbox director Michal Maurer said.
Each of the new field hospitals consists of a central corridor to which individual units are connected, such as the doctor’s surgery, a laboratory, a pharmacy, an urgent admission, a reception and a sanitary container.
Along with field hospitals, Karbox has also delivered to NSPA other containers to be used as laundries, kitchens and, workshops, for instance.
The firms also produces other equipment, such as containers for trucks, sandwich panels, exhaust pipes and reservoirs.
Excalibur is the leading supplier of military materiel on the Czech market. Karbox has been its part since 2013. The holding employs some 1700 people in the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
