Zabreh, North Moravia, April 7 (CTK) – An international travelling exhibition of paintings, mainly by exiled Chinese artists including members of the Falun Gong movement persecuted by the Chinese regime, opened in Zabreh’s Tunkluv dvorec Gallery on Thursday.

The exhibition with the motto Art of truth, compassion and tolerance offers about 30 oil paintings.

It runs through the end of April, the town hall representatives have told CTK.

The organisers said the exhibition shows to people how the Falun Gong practice of meditation changes human lives and how people return to Chinese values.

Simultaneously, it tells the real life stories of Falun Gong followers whom the Chinese regime persecutes over the way of living, Daniel Gryc, from the town hall, said on behalf of the organisers.

The initiator of the presented works of art is Chinese sculptor and art teacher Kunlun Zhang, whom the Chinese regime previously sentenced to forced labour in a correctional labour camp. Also as a result of international support for him, he escaped from the camp in 2001.

Two years later, he established a group of professional artists with a similar fate, named Falun Dafa Artists Center.

The travelling exhibition has already been installed in prestigious galleries, cultural centres, libraries and schools in more than 200 towns of 40 countries.

Falun Gong, rooted in Buddhism and Taoism and promoting physical and spiritual exercises, has won a number of fans since the 1990s when it presented itself in public.
