In May industrial production grew a real 8.6 % y/y. After adjusting for the number of workdays it was up 1.0 %. Compared to the preceding month it was after adjusting for seasonal effects down 0.4 %. The value of new contracts was up 13.5 % y/y. The increase was primarily driven by the manufacture of motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers (contribution of +3.9 p.p., growth of 21.4 %). This was reported by the Czech Statistical Office (CSÚ).
