Carmaker ŠKODA AUTO plans to expand to Iran, which the firm sees as a market with high growth potential. The brand also plans expansion to South Korea. The spokesperson for ŠKODA AUTO, Tomáš Kubík, has told ČIANEWS that the firm is analysing the situation in many markets and regions that could become lucrative in the long run. These markets include also North America, incl. the US. No specific decision has been made yet, though. ŠKODA AUTO is now active on more than 100 markets around the world. The brand’s global sales in 5M 2016 grew 4.6% y/y to 470,600 vehicles, a new all-time high for the five-month period.
