Throughout the last century the Czech Philharmonic was a reassuring constant for the people of Prague; a steady presence against a backdrop of radical political change, repression and uncertainty. Now though the orchestra isn’t on the edge of the politics – it’s right in the middle, with shells raining down from all sides.
