Prague, Jan 30 (CTK) – Bence Bubreg and Marton Bubreg, a brother and sister from Austria playing the clarinet and the saxophone, have won the 52nd radio competition for young musicians Concertino Praga organised by the public broadcaster Czech Radio (CRo), Blanka Bumbalkova, from CRo, told CTK on Tuesday.
The jury made the decision on the basis of listening to the recordings of young musicians aged under 17.
This year, the competition was organised for small groups – duos, trios, quartets and quintets.
The Bubreg Duo also won the Helena Karaskova prize. The Czech Radio will issue a CD of their music and organise their concert in a big music hall in Prague and in four other towns in southern Bohemia in June.
Seventeen music groups from Austria, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Germany, Hungary, Latvia, Poland, Slovenia and Ukraine.
Last year, 16-year Russian flute player Uliana Zhivitskaya became the winner.
