The Czech economy expanded in the first quarter in contrast to the flat growth estimated initially on May 15, data from the Czech Statistical Office showed Wednesday. Gross domestic product advanced 0.4 percent sequentially in the first quarter after expanding 1.5 percent a quarter ago. According to flash estimate, GDP remained unchanged. Year-on-year, the economy grew 2.5 percent, the fastest since the first quarter of 2011. The statistical office initially estimated 2 percent growth for the first quarter, following fourth quarter’s 1.1 percent expansion.
